The Sunfire Vacuum Tube Control Center (VTCC) is one of the best vacuum tube preamps ever made. After all these years, this truly magnificent unit is in need of some TLC and must be serviced. This unit contains quite a few electrolytic capacitors - more than your standard audiophile preamp. But not because it lacks good design, rather because the power supply is designed for very low noise and ripple on the HT voltage, and so many paralleled devices are utilized there. You do not want to risk these old electrolytic capacitors leaking on the PCB! The contents of a leaking capacitor is corrosive, and can permanently damage the circuit board which uses a double layered design with delicate vias and critical trace structure.
Some units have IR remote control capability, and some do not. We offer a IR remote volume control modification for units missing the remote functions. We also offer a turn table premamp retrofit for units missing this feature as well...
